Karnataka Assembly Passes Bill To Hike Salary Of Chief Minister & Ministers

Karnataka – Now at a time when the common man is suffering due to inflation, the Karnataka assembly has passed a bill that hikes the salaries of the chief minister and other legislators. The bill proposes to increase the monthly salary of the chief minister from 50,000 rupees to 75,000 rupees. Meanwhile, the salary of ministers has been increased from 40,000 rupees to 60,000.
The government has listed exponential increases in petrol and diesel rates, house rent, and expenses as reasons for the hike. The hikes will result in an additional state expenditure of about 90 crore rupees per annum.
Not just about passing these two bills of hiking salary of the ministers as well as the legislators but the circumstance under which it was passed five consecutive days of the Assembly session and there has not been a single fruitful discussion that benefits the common man.

It has been a complete ruckus inside the assembly, the Congress protesting the BJP Congress and the JDS involved in the blame game of mudslinging at each other and all of these issues that were taken up sloganeering, bringing the national flag into the assembly and calling each other names.
All of these have taken priority. During these five consecutive days. Even these two bills were passed without any discussion on the floor of the house. Amidst the ruckus that the Congress the opposition had created at that point of time, and no other anything beneficial for the common man, the session to have to be held until the end of this week.

Even that was adjourned to March 4th so abruptly ending and discontinuing the session a much before it was planned to end so in all ways. On one side, no discussion, nothing fruitful that came out of the Assembly session, but definitely, it’s all the ruckus. The legislators made sure that the bill was passed so that their salary is hiked and that too, at 50%.
