Nawab Malik Arrest Political Controversy Erupts Over NCP Minister Malik Arrest

Mumbai – Nawab Malik sitting cabinet minister in the Maharashtra Government was arrested by the enforcement directorate today. After being grilled for eight hours. Malik has been arrested in connection with a money laundering case against underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and his aides. Stepping out of the ED office after questioning Malik told reporters that he will fight, win and expose everyone.

He faces a probe for reportedly a property from the 1993 bomb blast convict Sardar Chavi Ali and who is allegedly a closed aid of Tiger Memon. Now the rest has snowballed into a huge political controversy as well with members of the MVA government accusing the ED of acting at the behest of the BJP.

But after that arrest, the Maharashtra Minister of course defiantly waved his fist to bring you those visuals of course and said that he won’t bow down and he would quote-unquote expose everyone.

Before we deconstruct the several meetings that are underway and their implications for the MVA government just break down for us the allegation that Nawab Malik is facing himself. This is regarding his sale of the property.

So, right now, the ED has made a case out of like, he allegedly brought property from a certain person called Salim Patel and Shah Wali Khan, so the allegations are about this buying of property and its linking this selling and buying the property with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

The NCP is alleging right now is that it is only after the former CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis’ allegation that the ED sprang into action. It’s vindictive action of sorts and it is a targeting of the MVA government. This is the road that leads to Sharad Pawar residents and right now NCP leaders are into a major huddle and we saw that beat Ajit Pawar, be it Deputy Chief Minister Hajeet Pawar, Hassan Moshiri, Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil, Chhagan Bhujbal, health minister Rajesh Tope, Balasaheb Patil, Jeetendra, they have all having a meeting.

The senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat and former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and minister Ashok Chauhan also joined the proceedings. And we are told that after this huddle is over, then they will communicate either digitally or through a physical meeting with Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray. Uddhav Thackeray’s resident ‘Varsha’ is barely two kilometers away from here. So so the larger picture if I want to deconstruct for you is now this has become an MVA versus central government battle of sorts and the NCP has not taken this arrest lying down.

They are deeply disturbed distressed, and they are planning their next move. So there are two contours to their planning. One is, of course, the legal contour which is that what will happen to the Nawab Malik, how many days of custody will the court grant him and the second is political because as a natural course, the Nawab Malik would need to resign and the resignation would need to be submitted. So then what will be the next political course of action? How will the MVA government deal with this politically? So all these questions are being answered or huddled or deliberated upon right now.
