Indian Railways Connects Its Longest Rail Tunnel, 12.75 Km-Long T-49 On Katra-Banihal Section

Katra – The main Tunnel of T-49, the longest tunnel off Indian railways between Sumber and Arpinchala stations of Katra-Banihal section of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project has been connected successfully on Tuesday. Out of the 272-kilometer length of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, 161 Kilometer has already been commissioned and operationalized. Now, the Indian railway’s longest tunnel has been connected good news coming in.

It’s a dream project of the Government of India which is going on and after this longest tunnel will be connected from one side to another site. It is a big success for the railway ministry especially because they know how important it is for many years they were working around the clock and a number of tunnels are being constructed over here in Jammu and Kashmir.

Now, the train is going to Sumber and Arpinchala stations of Katra-Banihal section is established and the remaining route will be finished in next few years. As it is expected, the railway department will be able to connect this link and after this tunnel is linked the work is going to be very faster because the major challenge for any project is to connect from one end to another end.

Now it has been connected through rest of the things will be done in a very short time and we know that on this Jammu-Srinagar railway link, there are a number of bridges which are the major projects like we know that how the major the highest bridge of railway, highest is in the world is being constructed by the railway.

It is expected that soon people will be able to travel from the rest of the country to Srinagar by train also.
