Indian Citizens Asked To Leave Ukraine, Indian Embassy Issues Advisory

Kyiv – On Sunday, Indian Embassy issued an advisory to Indian citizens living in Ukraine asking them to leave the country, if not necessary. The advisory read and I quote:-

“In view of continued attention in Ukraine, all Indian nationals who stay are not deemed essential and all Indian students are advised to leave Ukraine temporarily.”

Indian students are advised to also get in touch with respective student contractors for updates on charter flights. The center’s advisory comes amid looming threats of Russia invading Ukraine, there are about 20,000 Indians living in the Eastern European country out of which 18,000 are students. This is the latest advisory that has been issued by the Indian Embassy. And this also happens to be the second advisory that has been issued by India amid the rising tensions between Russia and Ukraine.

The families of Indian embassy officials in Ukraine have been asked to move back to India. So over there, the Indian nationals, the first advisory that was there was also in the backdrop of the students especially was trading. There are almost 20,000 overseas students who are studying in Ukraine and out of which 18,000 belong to India. So one can imagine the amount of the population that we have.

So this is the second advisory that comes up. In the advisory, it’s very clearly written that in view of the continued high level of tension, and uncertainty with respect to the situation in Ukraine, all Indian nationals who stay are not deemed essential, and all Indian students are advised to leave Ukraine temporary. We all know already that Embassy has also come up with a control room so that there is proper coordination among the students and their parents over here in India and students in Ukraine.

In fact, in the advisory also, it is written that commercial flights, charter flights, and other things are finally available for travel, for an orderly and timely departure. Students are also advised to get in touch with the student contractors for the updates on the charter flight that is written and they’ve been asked to follow them to see for further updates.

In fact, looking at the advisories and uncertainty, we also see that some students have already left Ukraine some are about to reach today. So way uncertainties and tensions are increasing between the two. We see that Indian national for the not to get stuck anywhere. embassies have come up with this thing.
