India Abstains Again At UNSC, Russia Vs Ukraine War Updates

New York – India has abstained again at the United Nations Security Council. This time it’s about the procedural vote for holding the United Nations General Assembly session on the Ukraine crisis. India continues to press for urgent de-escalation of hostilities on humanitarian grounds.
India representative in UNSC Session said:-
We continue to be deeply concerned about the safety and security of Indian nationals, including a large number of Indian students who are still stranded in Ukraine. Our evacuation efforts have been adversely impacted by the complex and uncertain situation at the border crossings.
It is important to maintain an uninterrupted and predictable movement of people. It is an urgent humanitarian necessity, that must be immediately addressed. Taking into consideration the totality of circumstances we decided to abstain.
So basically, what we are seeing at the moment is efforts to have a dialogue, we are looking out now for this dialogue to take place at the Ukraine Belarus border, those Russia has said that is not going to stop its offensive during the talks.
However, the very fact that talks have been agreed upon. And the venue has finally been decided this counts as some sort of ray of hope that there will be some amount of de-escalation and violence. A Belarus on the other side has pointed out that they will keep all their artillery, anything that is being launched from their territory is not going to be active during the time of the talks.
Remember, Ukraine has accused Belarus of being used as a territory of attack against them by the Russian side. And therefore they have not considered it a neutral venue. So the two sides are now going to be meeting at the border. The other thing is that has a special emergency, a United Nations General Assembly session has also been called.
Now in this session, the General Assembly session, the US will take the same or largely the same draft that is launched the UNSC. In this draft, In fact, what we will see is that as we saw in 2014, there will be a lot more support in the UN General Assembly for this. However, it’s not binding on the members, it will be more for messaging and for pressurizing Russia.
I think this dialogue move is tactical at the moment, neither side actually is ready for the dialogue. And for reasons that are different. For Russia, the whole purpose is to degrade the military infrastructure in Ukraine and bring about a change of regime they will not stop, I think till that happens.
For Mr. Zelinsky, he is caught between a rock and a hard place. He is playing both sides. And rightly so I mean, he has come across as a very brave leader as a leader who rose to the occasion. But he’s talking about talks at the same time, approaching the International Court of Justice at the same time, seeking more arms.
So, it is clear that this is technical. You don’t want to lose the PR exercise. You want to be seen to be talking, but perhaps it is premature to show any results.
Firstly, Russia is just trying to indicate to the rest of the world that they are quite serious about their mission in Ukraine. If you remember, before even the war started, they had conducted the nuclear drills which were attended by Mr. Putin along with the president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. And then thereafter once the war started, they had hoped that they will be able to seize Ukraine, presumably the capital city of Kyiv in 24 to 48 hours, which didn’t happen.
In fact, as the Reports have come, there have been huge losses on the Russian side, and Ukraine is doing a good job to give a good fight. And therefore they are in a disarray. And in the next 24 to 48 hours depending on how the talks go, which are no less likely to fructify for regions that were just stated by our ambassador.

They may go in for some kind of tactical nuclear strike which cannot be ruled out because more delay they incur every passing day the NATO countries are pumping in money, they’re pumping in logistics, they’re pumping with the arms supply, and they want that the war must continue longer war is not in the interest of Russia.
And therefore the possibility of any smaller tactical nuclear strike cannot be ruled out. Of course, it has what major connotation for the world over, and let’s see know how things progress.
