Akshay Kumar visited Jageshwar Dham in Almora Today and Offered Prayers
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is on a spiritual tour of Uttarakhand, the land of gods. The actor, who is shooting for his upcoming film in the state, visited two of the most revered temples in the region – Jageshwar Dham and Badrinath temple – on Sunday.
Jageshwar Dham: The eighth Jyotirlinga
Jageshwar Dham is a cluster of 124 temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, located about 35 kilometers from Almora. It is considered as the eighth Jyotirlinga out of 12 Jyotirlingas in India. The temples date back to the 9th to 13th centuries and are surrounded by dense deodar forests.
Akshay Kumar reached Jageshwar Dham at around 6:30 am and offered prayers at the main temple of Lord Jyotirlinga Jagannath. He also recited the Mahamrityunjaya mantra, which is believed to bestow longevity and health.
The actor was greeted by a large number of devotees who gathered to see him. He graciously posed for photographs and selfies with them. He also interacted with the local people and expressed his happiness after visiting the temple.
He said that he felt peace after coming here and that he was very happy. He also said that he would come again to Jageshwar Dham soon.
Badrinath temple: The abode of Lord Vishnu
Badrinath temple is one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites in India. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is worshipped here as Badri Narayan. The temple is situated at an altitude of 3,133 meters on the banks of the Alaknanda river in Chamoli district.
Akshay Kumar took a helicopter ride from Jageshwar Dham to Badrinath temple and reached there at around 10 am. He had a darshan of Lord Badri Vishal and offered prayers along with Vedapath, a recitation of Vedic scriptures by priests.
The actor also waved at his fans who gathered outside the temple to get a glimpse of their favourite star. He sported a smear of sandalwood paste on his forehead, which is a mark of devotion.
Akshay Kumar shared a stunning aerial video of Uttarakhand on his Instagram account, captured during his helicopter trip to Badrinath.
He wrote, “The good fortune of shooting in devbhoomi Uttarakhand!! On my way to Shri Badrinath dham. Absolutely amazing. No words. जय बदरी विशाल 🙏”.
The actor also met Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his residence in Dehradun and discussed various issues related to the state.
