Aamir Dalvi Makes a Stunning Bollywood Debut with Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy Movie

Aamir Dalvi, a popular television actor, is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the film Kennedy, directed by the critically acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. The film, which is a dark comedy about a struggling actor who gets involved in a murder mystery, has been selected for the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2023.
A Dream Come True for Aamir Dalvi
Aamir Dalvi, who has been working in the television industry for over a decade, has always aspired to work in films. He has impressed audiences with his versatile roles in shows like Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga, SuperCops vs Supervillains, and Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant. He has also done some short films and web series, but never got a chance to showcase his talent on the big screen.
That changed when he auditioned for Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy, which is based on a novel by Manu Joseph. Aamir says he was thrilled when he got a call from Kashyap himself, who offered him the role of Kennedy, the protagonist of the film. “It was a dream come true for me. I have always admired Anurag sir’s work and his vision. He is one of the most respected and influential directors in India and abroad. To work with him in my first film was an honor and a privilege,” Aamir says.
A Challenging and Rewarding Experience
Aamir says working on Kennedy was a challenging and rewarding experience for him. He had to undergo a physical transformation to play the role of a struggling actor who is desperate for fame and money. He also had to learn different dialects and accents for his character, who hails from Kerala but lives in Mumbai. “It was not easy to play Kennedy. He is a complex and layered character who goes through a lot of emotions and situations in the film. He is funny, naive, ambitious, greedy, insecure, and vulnerable at the same time. I had to work hard to get into his skin and understand his psyche,” Aamir says.

He adds that working with Kashyap was a learning experience for him. He says Kashyap gave him a lot of freedom and guidance to explore his character and improvise on the sets. He also praises his co-stars Rahul Bhat, Sunny Leone, Abhilash Thapliyal, and Vijay Varma, who play pivotal roles in the film. “They are all amazing actors and wonderful human beings. We had a great rapport and chemistry on and off the screen. They helped me a lot to grow as an actor and as a person,” Aamir says.
A Proud Moment for Aamir Dalvi
Aamir says he is ecstatic that his debut film has been selected for Cannes, one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world. He says he is looking forward to attending the festival and walking the red carpet with Kashyap and his co-stars. “It is a proud moment for me and my family. I am grateful to Anurag sir for giving me this opportunity and trusting me with this role. I am also thankful to my fans and well-wishers who have supported me throughout my journey. I hope they will love Kennedy as much as I loved playing him,” Aamir says.
Kennedy will be screened in the Midnight Screenings section of the Cannes Film Festival 2023, which showcases films that are innovative, daring, and provocative. The film is expected to release in India later this year.
