Punjab Farmers To Oppose PM Narendra Modi’s Visit To State On 14 February

Jalandhar – Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rallies in Punjab on February 14, 16, and 17 Big announcements were made by the farmers’ organizations of Punjab involved in the United Kisaan Morcha. Farmer organizations announced to oppose Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Punjab. Farmer organizations say that the promises made by the central government to bring a law on the guarantee of MSP and form a committee were not fulfilled.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to visit Punjab Jalandhar on 14th of this particular February to give a boost to the campaign of BJP over here in Punjab elections, but ahead of his visit, Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, Dr. Darshan Pal, who was addressing a media press conference over here in Punjab clearly said that they will be opposing his visits Whensoever he will be coming to Punjab.
What we are learning from BJP sources cited for the PM is coming to Punjab 3 times this month on 14th February, 16th February, and 17th February, so, the physical rallies were there, but Sanyukt Kisan Morcha union farmer Front had already said that they will be opposing, they’ll be demonstrating just on that particular place, where a prime minister will be coming to address political rallies.

As they said that the promises which were you know, made by the central government at the time when you know, three form laws were repealed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. You know, it was said that they will be a law with the guarantee of MSP also. The FIRs which were registered during the farmer agitation over here in Punjab and Haryana, you know, those matters are still have not been taken by the State governments.
Also, you know, the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, as you know, farmers, they clearly said that you know, nothing was done, no action was taken against the accused and now, farmer, they have decided to oppose the Prime Minister rallies, they said that it will be a peaceful march, on 14, February in Jalandhar, where Prime Minister is coming to give up to give a boost to the Punjab BJP campaign over here in the ahead of assembly elections.
But definitely, whatever happened in Fazilka Ferozpur, when Prime Minister was scheduled to visit Ferozpur, his cavalcade was stopped at the flyover. They are just a few kilometers back from the Fazilka border. So definitely, it will be a serious security concern for the security forces, not only for the security forces but the questions, which arose after, you know, Prime Minister was stopped, his cavalcades was stopped over there in Fazilka.

So this time, as BJP in the campaign, you know, different central leadership is campaigning for a BJP over here in Punjab, there is no demonstration, no dharnas, no protest by the farmers, but when it comes to Prime Minister Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, Dr. Dharshan Pal, he clearly said they will be opposing Prime Minister visit over here in Punjab and they will be demonstrating peacefully outside the rally venue.
So now we have to wait and see this controversy. The security teams have already standardized the area, the security protocol already has checked the venue cause whatever happened in the previous visit of prime minister over here in Punjab, so definitely it will be a serious you know, a concern for the security forces or the security protocol for the prime minister to secure that particular premises as prime minister Narendra Modi is visiting Punjab on 14th of this particular February and Sanyukt Kisan Morcha has called this demonstration outside the rally venue in Jalandhar.
