Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar to Lock Horns at the Box Office with Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

Eid 2024 is going to be a festive occasion for movie lovers, as two of the most anticipated films of the year are set to clash at the box office. Ajay Devgn’s sports drama Maidaan and Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan are both scheduled to release on the same day, promising a thrilling and entertaining experience for the audience.
Maidaan: A Tribute to the Golden Years of Indian Football
Maidaan is a film that celebrates the glory and achievements of Indian football under the guidance of legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who is widely regarded as the founding father of the sport in the country. Ajay Devgn plays the role of Rahim, who led the Indian team to victory in the 1951 and 1962 Asian Games, and also to the semi-finals of the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.
The film is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, who previously helmed the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Badhaai Ho. The film is co-produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios, and also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh in pivotal roles.

The film’s teaser, which was released last year, received rave reviews from the critics and the fans alike, for its realistic and inspiring portrayal of the golden era of Indian football. The teaser showed the players playing barefoot in the rain, and Ajay Devgn’s powerful dialogue, “Aaj Maidaan mein utarna gyarah lekin dikhna ek (today when you step out on the field, you should be 11 in number but should look like one).”
The film’s poster, which was unveiled by Ajay Devgn on his Instagram account on Tuesday, showed him in a formal attire with his foot on a football, and the caption, “The much-awaited game is about to flag off worldwide. Mark your calendars as #Maidaan takes over fields this Eid, April 2024, promising an inspiring tale that will leave you cheering & celebrating with pride.”
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan: A High-Octane Action Thriller
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is a film that brings together two of the biggest action stars of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, for the first time. The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who has previously delivered blockbuster hits like Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Bharat. The film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles.
The film is a remake of the 1998 comedy film of the same name, which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in dual roles. However, the remake is said to have a different plot and tone, with more emphasis on action and thrill. The film’s official teaser is expected to be released on Wednesday, and the fans are eagerly waiting to see the chemistry and the stunts of Akshay and Tiger on the screen.
The film’s producer, Sajid Nadiadwala, had earlier said that the film is a tribute to the original film and its actors, and that he is confident that the audience will love the new version. He had also said that the film is a perfect blend of comedy, action, and romance, and that it will be a treat for the fans of both Akshay and Tiger.

Which Film Will Win the Box Office Battle?
Both Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan are expected to be big hits, as they have a huge fan following and a strong buzz. Both the films have a different genre and appeal, and cater to different segments of the audience. However, the clash of the two films will also affect their business, as they will have to share the screens and the footfalls.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the clash of the two films is not a good sign for the industry, as it will result in a loss of revenue and audience. He said that both the films deserve a solo release, as they have the potential to create history at the box office. He also said that the makers of the films should try to avoid the clash and find a suitable date for their respective films.
However, as of now, both the films are adamant on their release date, and are ready to face each other on Eid 2024. It will be interesting to see which film will emerge as the winner of this epic battle, and which film will win the hearts of the audience.
