Kazan Khan Obituary:- Kazan Khan was a popular actor who played iconic villains in Tamil and Malayalam films. He passed away on June 12, 2023, due to a heart attack. He was below the age of 50.
A Versatile Villain
Kazan Khan made his debut in the Tamil film industry with Senthamizh Paattu in 1992, opposite Prabhu. He then ventured into Malayalam cinema with Gandharvam in 1993, where he played a kidnapper opposite Mohanlal. He soon became a sought-after actor for negative roles, thanks to his convincing performance and menacing screen presence.
He acted in more than 50 films in Tamil and Malayalam languages, mostly as a villain. Some of his notable films include CID Moosa, The Don, Mayamohini, Lailaa O Lailaa, Varnapakittu, Ivan Maryadaraman, and many more. He also appeared in a few Kannada films.
He was known for his versatility and ability to portray different shades of villainy. He could be ruthless, cunning, comic, or charismatic depending on the character and the script. He shared screen space with many leading actors such as Dileep, Mammootty, Suresh Gopi, Jayaram, Prithviraj, and others.

A Sudden Demise
Kazan Khan’s death came as a shock to the film industry and his fans. He suffered a heart attack on June 12 and breathed his last. His death was confirmed by producer and production controller NM Badusha on his Facebook page. He wrote, “Popular villain actor Kazan Khan died due to heart attack. He starred in CID Moosa, Varnapakittu among several other films. Condolences.”
Many celebrities and colleagues expressed their grief and paid tribute to Kazan Khan on social media. Actor Dileep, who worked with him in several films such as CID Moosa and The Don, posted a picture of him with Kazan Khan and wrote, “Rest in peace brother.” Other actors such as Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jayasurya, Kunchacko Boban, Anoop Menon, Aju Varghese, and others also condoled his demise.

A Wake-Up Call
Kazan Khan’s death has also raised awareness about the rising cases of heart attacks among young people. According to experts, lifestyle factors such as sedentary habits, occupational stress, dietary changes, smoking, and drinking are major contributors to the increased risk of heart diseases among young people.
Dr Mukesh Goel, a senior cardiac surgeon at Delhi’s Apollo Hospital, told News9 that people should adopt healthy habits such as regular exercise, balanced diet, adequate sleep, meditation, and avoiding tobacco and alcohol to prevent heart problems. He also advised people to go for regular check-ups and screenings to detect any signs of heart issues early.
He said that diet plays an important role in maintaining heart health. He suggested some dietary tips such as including more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains; limiting salt intake; choosing healthy fats; avoiding processed foods; and staying hydrated.
He also said that people should not ignore any symptoms such as chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, sweating, nausea, or dizziness and seek medical help immediately if they experience them.
