Satish Kaushik died at the age of 66, Veteran Actor Passed Away due to Heart Attack

On March 9, 2023, news of the sudden passing of veteran Bollywood actor Satish Kaushik shook the Indian entertainment industry and left his fans mourning. Kaushik, who was 66 years old, suffered a heart attack at a friend’s house in Delhi and was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately could not be saved. His colleagues and friends, including Anupam Kher, Payal Rohatgi, Anirudh Dave, and Raza Murad, expressed their shock and grief over the actor’s untimely demise.
Kaushik was a versatile actor, filmmaker, and theatre director who had been part of the Indian film industry for over four decades. He began his career in 1982 with the film Masoom and went on to work in numerous memorable films, including Mr. India, Deewana Mastana, and Brick Lane. He was known for his exceptional comedic timing and natural acting style, which endeared him to audiences across generations.

The news of Kaushik’s death spread rapidly on social media, with fans and colleagues expressing their condolences and sharing their memories of the actor. Anupam Kher, who had worked with Kaushik in several films, tweeted, “I am devastated to hear about the passing of my friend and colleague Satish Kaushik. He was a wonderful person and a gifted actor who brought joy and laughter to so many. He will be deeply missed”.

Payal Rohatgi, who had worked with Kaushik in the film Ugly Aur Pagli, said in an interview with Zoom TV, “Satish ji was a great human being and a talented actor. He had a unique style of comedy that no one could match. I am still in shock over his sudden demise”.

Anirudh Dave, who had worked with Kaushik in the film Gangs of Wasseypur, said, “I am heartbroken over the loss of such a wonderful actor and an even better human being. Satish ji was always so kind and supportive to me, and I will never forget his encouragement and guidance”.
Raza Murad, who had worked with Kaushik in several films, said, “I have lost a dear friend and a great colleague. Satish ji was a true legend of Indian cinema and will always be remembered for his incredible talent and warm personality”.
Kaushik was also a respected theatre director and had founded the theatre group ‘Actors’ Creativity Ensemble’ in Mumbai in the 1980s. He directed numerous successful plays, including ‘Ek Ruka Hua Faisla’ and ‘Laila Majnu’, and was instrumental in promoting theatre as an art form in India.

In addition to his work in film and theatre, Kaushik was also a talented filmmaker and had directed several critically acclaimed films, including Tere Naam and Milenge Milenge. He won several awards for his work, including the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film Saathiya in 2002.
