Salman Khan is one of the most popular and successful actors in Bollywood. He has a huge fan following across the world, and he is known for his generosity and kindness. But do you know who is the most loyal and faithful person in Salman’s life? It is none other than his bodyguard Shera, who has been with him for over 28 years.
Shera, whose real name is Gurmeet Singh Jolly, has been working with Salman as his personal bodyguard since 1995. He has been by Salman’s side through thick and thin, and has protected him from all kinds of threats and dangers. Shera is not just a bodyguard, but also a friend and a family member to Salman.
Salman Khan’s heartfelt birthday wish for Shera
Today, May 19, is Shera’s birthday, and Salman did not miss the opportunity to wish him in a special way. He took to his Instagram account and posted a photo of himself with Shera, where they are seen smiling and posing together. He wrote, “Happy birthday Shera, god bless u man, be happy. @beingshera.”
The post received over 2 million likes and thousands of comments from Salman’s fans and friends. Shera also replied to the post with a touching message. He wrote, “Thanks Maallik for all the love and blessing for soo many years.” He addressed Salman as ‘Maallik’, which means ‘lord’ or ‘master’, as a sign of respect and gratitude.
Shera’s journey with Salman
Shera started his career as a bodyguard for Hollywood stars like Michael Jackson, Will Smith, Jackie Chan, Keanu Reeves, etc. when they visited India. He met Salman for the first time in 1995, when he was hired to protect him during a show in Chandigarh. Since then, he has been with Salman and has become an integral part of his life.
Shera has accompanied Salman to all his film shoots, events, tours, and travels. He has also managed the security arrangements for Salman’s Being Human Foundation and his clothing brand. He has even appeared in a cameo role in Salman’s film Bodyguard (2011), where he played himself.

Shera considers Salman as his idol and mentor, and has named his son Tiger after Salman’s character in the film Ek Tha Tiger (2012). He has also expressed his desire to launch his son as an actor under Salman’s banner.
Shera is not just a bodyguard, but also a loyal fan of Salman. He once said in an interview:-
“Jab tak zinda hoon, bhai ke saath rahunga (I’ll accompany him till I’m alive). I always tell people that they will never see me standing behind or next to bhai. I will be standing in front of him, looking out for any threat.”
