Jack William Nicklaus, also known as “The Golden Bear”, is a retired American professional golfer and golf course designer. Born on January 21, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio, Jack is widely considered to be one of the greatest golfers of all time. He won a record 18 major championships, three more than second-placed Tiger Woods.
Nicklaus began his professional golf career in 1962, quickly establishing himself as one of the top players in the world. Over the next two decades, he dominated the sport, winning 18 major championships, including six Masters titles and five PGA Championships. He played in a record 154 consecutive major championships for which he was eligible from the 1957 U.S. Open to the 1998 U.S. Open.
